I wrote the song, This

I recorded for Brunswick Records(Buddy Hollys' label). Teen Jean Jive is the other side of ,

Below is a song I wrote in memory of my
dad, William Guy Harlan. He passed when he was 47. I was 7. In those few years we had together he inspired me to love
music. He was a singer and a guitar player. He had been a coal miner and also worked as an electrician at the Evansville Indiana Shipyard during World
War II. He was the choir leader at Cleaton Baptist Church when he passed away. This song is not a true story but there is
a lot of truth in it. My dad's life inspired this song. To my dad I say, I still remember you even though
you passed away some 60 plus years ago. I thank you for the inspiration and the talent.
Thanks Dad,
your only son. I hope I can be half the man you were.
